1. So...where DO you get your protein?
One cup of cooked spinach has about 7 grams of protein. The same serving of French beans has about 13 grams. Two cups of cooked kale? 5 grams. One cup of boiled peas? Nine grams. And so on!
Hemp! Throw 30 grams
of hemp powder in your morning smoothie and it'll give you about 11 grams of protein.
Extra sources are nut butter (8grams protein)
Quinoa (9grams protein
Tofu (9grams protein per serve)
Lentils (18grams of protein)
Beans - kidney & black
beans, (1 cup = 13-15 grams of protein!
Tempeh - 1 cup of tempeh is heaped with about 30 grams of protein!
(To put this into perspective - that’s more than 5 eggs or a regular hamburger patty.)
Sprouted-grain bread - you'll get about 10 grams of protein in the bread alone!
So as you can see, vegans have quite an assortment of natural protein packed foods to choose from!
